ARMED police stormed a home in the Black Country today after surrounding the property for more than 90 minutes.
Officers burst into the house with guns after a stand off at the semi-detached house in Short Street, Wednesbury, near Wolverhampton.
More than 10 armed officers had been stationed on Short Street and at the front and back of the house from around 8am, while marked police cars blocked off the road.
The quiet residential street was completely sealed off and neighbours who were preparing to go to work were ordered to stay inside.
Police marksmen kept their weapons trained on the property from the street in front, while other officers waited with dogs and a battering ram before bursting inside at 9.25am.
The officers were inside for around 10 minutes before returning to the street and standing down.
Shortly after the raid, medics who had been waiting in a nearby ambulance entered the building but it is unclear whether anybody was injured
The area around Darlaston Road and Bilston Road was sealed off before armed officers raided the property after around 90 minutes.
One man is reported to have been arrested following this morning’s incident.
