JLS singer Oritsé Williams has been arrested and quizzed by police after a fan said he raped her.
The girl, a waitress aged 20, claims she met the star — who shot to fame on X Factor — at the Gorgeous club in Wolverhampton after his gig there.
The woman told police she and a friend were invited back to a hotel by Oritsé, 30, who has sold more than ten million records with boyband JLS.
The pals were drinking with the singer and a man he was with at the hotel.
They had gone there after Williams’ gig at the Gorgeous Nightclub in Wolverhampton.
A source said: “The girl and her friend are both massive JLS and Oritsé fans.
“Apparently Oritsé wasn’t drinking at the club.
“They agreed to go back to his hotel with him and a friend he was with.
“The club was open until 6am. The girls were both drinking there.
“They eventually left the room but once outside they realised they had left behind coats and, more importantly, a handbag with a purse in it containing their taxi money to get home.
“One of the girls knocked on the door saying she wanted to retrieve her stuff and was let back in.
“It’s then she says she was raped.
“Police were called to the hotel shortly afterwards to a report of rape and Williams was arrested there.”
Cops confirmed they are probing the alleged assault which is claimed to have taken place in the early hours of December 2.
Oritsé’s gig that night was part of a tour to promote his remixed 2015 solo Waterline album and the star performed in a 3am slot.
He later posted a video of himself on stage at the club before eventually going back to his hotel.
Police investigating the rape claims are to study CCTV footage from the club to see if they can spot the two pals.
It is understood officers are now examining statements and analysing test results.
On Friday a man dressed in a hoodie and hat left Williams’ £2.4million Surrey mansion at 8am.
He did not speak to The Sun on Sunday’s reporter.

West Midlands Police confirmed a rape investigation had been launched and a suspect had been questioned but confirmed no charges have been brought.
A spokeswoman said: “West Midlands Police were called to a Wolverhampton hotel at 7.45am on Friday December 2 after an allegation of rape and sexual assault was made by a 20-year-old woman.
“A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and a 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
“Both men have been bailed until February, pending further enquiries.”
JLS were one of the breakout stars of 2008 after they finished runners-up on the talent show behind winner Alexandra Burke.
Oritsé soared to success with bandmates Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and JB Gill.
He was considered the driving force behind the group, having decided to form a boyband and teaming up with Humes, who had music business experience.
The band had four UK top three albums as well as five UK number one singles.
After releasing a greatest hits compilation in late 2013, followed by a farewell arena tour across the UK, the group split, playing their final gig at the 02 in London in December 2013.
