A MARTIAL arts club boss shot himself days after being quizzed by police on suspicion of grooming and sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
Matthew Kendall, 39, was arrested after taking a party of young fighters from his Thai kick-boxing club to a competition.
He also invited the teen but a hotel receptionist called cops as she was suspicious of the girl’s youthful appearance.
He was quizzed on suspicion of grooming and sexual activity.
Kendall, of Wolverhampton, was found dead in a beauty spot car park last week with a shotgun lying next to his body.
The boxing club’s committee have shut it down.
Last night a message on its website read: “It is with regret that Telford Thai Boxing has officially closed its doors. We are extremely sorry for the short notice.”
A former member of his club, in Telford, Shrops, said: “It appears the bloke in charge of all these kids was a paedo.
“He was the owner of the club and had always been keen to promote its youth section.”

Greater Manchester Police confirmed last night a 39-year-old man, who had been arrested on suspicion of grooming and bailed, had been found dead.
A spokesman said:”A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Police Complaints Commission which is carrying out and independent investigation.”
