Holocene Takes Bilston by Storm with Electrifying Rock Performance at The Robin

The Robin music venue in Bilston was set ablaze last Friday night as local alternative rock band Holocene took the stage, leaving the audience in awe with their electrifying performance. The band, known for their distinctive alternative style, delivered a captivating set of well-known covers, paying homage to iconic artists ranging from the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty to the Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam.

From the moment Holocene stepped onto the stage, the atmosphere in The Robin was charged with anticipation. Front man Scott Hood wasted no time in unleashing their raw energy and talent, instantly captivating the crowd with their powerful presence launching into ‘Lonely Boy’ by The Black Keys. With each song, Holocene transported the audience through decades of rock history, masterfully capturing the essence of each iconic artist they covered while infusing their own unique interpretation.

The setlist was carefully crafted to create a perfect balance between nostalgic favourites and unexpected surprises. As Holocene delved into the timeless classics of the Rolling Stones, the crowd was transported to an era of rock and roll legends. The band’s rendition of Tom Petty’s hits evoked a sense of longing and celebration, while their explosive performance built to crescendo of Foo Fighters ‘My Hero’ and a stunning finale in Pearl Jam’s ‘Alive’ which brought a contemporary edge that had the entire venue on their feet.

As the night progressed, the anticipation grew for the much-anticipated appearance of the Counterfeit Beatles. However, it was Holocene’s remarkable stage presence and undeniable talent that left an indelible mark on the audience. The band showcased their versatility and musicianship, seamlessly transitioning between different genres and eras, captivating the hearts of all in attendance.

Holocene’s performance served as the perfect prelude to the legendary Counterfeit Beatles’ appearance. The atmosphere within The Robin was electric as the band concluded their set, leaving the crowd energised and hungry for more.

The tour picks up again at The Dark Horse in Moseley, Birmingham on Friday 11th August, Church Tavern at Quarry Bank on 27th August, The Swan Inn, Evesham on Saturday 16th September and then headlining a Charity Ball ‘Glitz & Glamour Ball for Dementia’ at Village Hotel Club in Dudley on Saturday 11th November.
